We used them regularly during our pike sessions, and I can honestly say we never had a single deep hooked pike.

The alarm’s set-up is simplicity in itself. Attaching the swing arm to your line via a line clip, the bail arm is then opened, and the alarm switched on.

Any movement of your line will now result in a clear signal. Not that it matters which way the fish takes the bait, if it’s a straight run, the arm lifts, pulls the line out of the clip and sets off the alarm, or just as effectively, if there’s a drop back, and the arm falls, the result is just as instantaneous.
